Fibre Focus Friday: Merino Mixed Bags

Fibre Focus Friday: Merino Mixed Bags
Lara Pollard-Jones

When you've got a project planned and you're faced with 120 shades of Merino, how do you pick which ones you need?  Our website is set up so that you can search by colour groups, allowing you to pick shades of colours, but sometimes you need a bit of a helping hand.  This is where our Merino mixed bags come in!

Our bags are designed to work for those who need a smaller amount of fibre in mutiple colours so that you can get what you need for your project without spending the earth.  over the years (that makes us sound old!) we've created these bags based on the shades that are often ordered together.  This means you can find sets of solid greens, sets inspired by the seasons and even a set to create all shades of creatures!

Talking of making your own...how are the mixed bags made?  Well, if you know us you'll know that they don't just drop off the end of a machine, oh no!  Our team make each stock bag by hand, weighing out the correct amount of fibre (usually 25g or 50g), wrapping them by hand and then putting them in bags and labelling them.  We've got a room dedicated to making kits and mixed bags which is often an explosion of colour (and maybe a bit of chaos) as all of the little woolly snakes wait to get wrapped and packed.
